Train movement

VIRUDHUNAGAR: A technical snag on the level crossing gate at Ramamoorthy Road disrupted rail movement on Virudhunagar-Vanchi Maniyachi section on Friday. It also brought vehicular traffic on the Ramamoorthy Road to a grinding halt.

The fault which occurred at around 8 a.m. could be rectified by the railway men only in the evening.

Till then, rail movement was possible with a caution that took at least 10 to 15 minutes for each train to cross the level crossing. Vehicular traffic on the road was not possible and diverted on other roads. The commencement of work on converting the level crossing gate into a road over bridge has been delayed for nearly two years now.
